Hyatt on world-class precision roller bearings

Bearing specialist, Hyatt, claims to have found the winning combination of quality and competitive cost structures to lead the heavy-duty wheel-end market.

Items such as wheel-end bearings are an often-overlooked element, though they are omnipresent on every heavy-duty vehicle worldwide and can be an area of concern if incorrectly specified.

One solution preferred by many a leading truck and trailer manufacturer worldwide is to use quality-proven world-class products as a standard.

Hyatt Business Development Manager, Ken Lorenze, said that choosing the wheel-end bearing to meet those needs is made easy with its celebrated Hyatt bearings.

“Using half a century of engineering expertise in roller bearings, Hyatt product has become the component of choice for over half of US truck and trailer manufacturers, including the biggest names like Mack, Volvo, International, Freightliner, Wabash and Utility,” said Lorenze – explaining it is Hyatt’s winning combination of OE quality and competitive cost structures that earned it the ‘First Fit’ position in the OE wheel-end market. “Hyatt utilises this same combination of quality and cost to support the heavy-duty aftermarket. Chief among Hyatt’s strengths are the world class capabilities and services that the company offers to its customers. These include a full life-cycle engineering development and support team, a wide range of testing capabilities, a certified quality management system, and a logistics group that can meet its customers’ diverse needs around the world.”

Hyatt tapered roller bearings have a two-part construction consisting of an outer race ‘cup’ and inner race and rollers ‘cone’ assembly, which Lorenze said is helpful in solving difficult assembly problems where high load carrying bearings are required.

“Each bearing set contains a precision matched cup and cone designed to maximise bearing performance and life, providing operational reliability under heavy loads and misaligned conditions,” he said.

In Australia, Hyatt bearings are available through the Coburg Truck Parts’ branches in Melbourne, as well as Gleeman Truck Parts’ branches in Sydney, Brisbane, Townsville and Perth.

“These branches are proud to distribute a leading product and provide any technical or product advice to fleets who are looking to simplify their bearing specifications for a safe solution,” said Lorenze.
