Low noise ball bearing is the most popular selection of bearing
for 3-phase standard electric motors and commercial electric
motors for domestic appliances because of its simple and maintenance
free arrangement.
Although load at shaft end is rarely known to motor manufacturers,
operational load in most cases are widely believed to be lower
than the permissible load of the selected bearing. Hence,
KML design put more emphasis to grease service life than fatigue
life of electric motor bearings. |

Service life of an electric motor
bearing can be understood as the grease service life as fatigue
is seldom the root cause of failure.
In order to ensure that proper bearing function is sustained
by the initial grease quantity in the bearing, extra attention
has been paid to the selection of grease type, cleanliness,
appropriate quantity & installation conditions.
Chevron SRI # 2 grease is the standard grease of KML premium
grade ball bearing because of its proven performance in wide
temperature range (-30/ +150), water resistance and
quiet running.
More is not always better. Grease quantity of KML premium
grade ball bearing is about 25% on the free internal space
of a bearing. |

Although both shield and seal-type ball
bearings are widely used by motor manufacturers, it is advisable to
use full enclosure type of sealed-bearings for motor maintenance
and repair purposes because of its higher effectiveness
in retaining grease while excluding contaminant.
Light contact triple lip seals are duly designed for premium
grade ball bearings to tackle the combination of factors,
namely low torque and good enclosure. Seal has to give due
respect to low friction torque, which is the main factor
accounting for the efficiency of domestic appliance electric
motors. On the other hand, it has to be tight enough to
eliminate grease contamination & leakage.
The light contact triple lip seals in blue color are made
of Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber material with the operation
temperature from -40 to +150.

Automotive wheel bearings would
be worn off after a long operation. Dismantling bearings from
wheel hubs time after time could distort both the hubs and
shafts. That make standard bearings cannot be mounted perfectly
any more.
For this special wheel maintenance aftermarket, KML have developed
some non-standard bearings with bigger outer ring dimension
or smaller inner ring dimension to fit in the distorted wheel
hubs or shafts. KML offer non-standard bearings according
to the distortion of hubs or shafts. These bearings, used in wheels of vehicles, trucks and trailers, include double row angular contact ball bearings, inch size tapered roller bearings and metric size tapered roller bearings.

environmentally friendly. The dimensions and weighs are in
compliance with safety standards for hand carry. The maximum
packing weight is less than 22.5Kgs. The cartons are designed
to easily open and lift up. The cartons are made of chlorine
free recycled paper with non-toxic inks, and so they are environmentally
friendly. Hence, they are becoming the favor of KML agents

third year KML works with the organization.
Being an Earth Partner, KML has gained a lot support from

The Equip Auto is the biggest international
automotive exhibition in 2007. It will be hold from Monday

and garage equipments. There will be three major events in
the coming show: the OEM meetings, the Trends and Knowledge
Area and the International Grand Prix for Automotive Innovation.
The Innovation not only relates to high tech vehicle and garage

Trailer is a biannual international
trade fair for semi-trailers, trailers, bodies, construction,
components, and accessories for goods handling and logistics.
Trailer is an organization of SAV, the royal professional
organization of Flemish Road Haulers and logistics service
providers.
The fair is for all decision makers of hauled equipment and
logistical service providers in Europe.
Trailer 2007 will be hold from 23 to 27 November 2007 at Kortrijk
Xpo, Kortrijk, Belgium. Companies dealing in semi-trailers,
trailers, bodies, construction, components, accessories for
goods handling and logistics will exhibit their products during
the 12th professional fair.

The Origin of Chinese New Year
|
|
The Chinese New Year is now popularly
known as the Spring Festival because it starts from the Beginning
of Spring (the first of the twenty-four terms in coordination
with the changes of Nature). New Year's Eve and New Year's
Day are celebrated as a family affair, a time of reunion and
thanksgiving.
Its origin is too old to be traced. Several explanations are
hanging around. One legend goes that the beast Nian had a
very big mouth that would swallow a great many people with
one bite. People were very scared. Until one day, an old man
came to their rescue, offering to subdue Nian, and let people
began to enjoy their peaceful life. Before the old man left,
he had told people to put up red paper decorations on their
windows and doors at each year's end to scare away Nian in
case it sneaked back again, because red is the color the beast
feared the most.
From then on, the tradition of observing the conquest of Nian
is carried on from generation to generation. However, people
today have long forgotten why they are doing all this, except
that they feel the color and the sound add to the excitement
of the celebration. |

My Special Spring Festival
|
|
| |
Instead of having the Spring Festival
together with my parents at my far northwest home after a
long trip as usual, I had it together with a small team in
South Africa. The team was composed of 16 people from Sunmotion.
It is worthwhile explaining that the Africa trip was the prize
of 2006 Excellent Employees of Sunmotion in which the winners
could enjoy the trip with their spouses. I was lucky to be
one of them. My wife was much more excited than me because
it was her first trip aboard. It was my first trip shared
with my wife aboard as well; the same as other 8 couples.
It was a rare opportunity for us.
February 17 was the Chinese New Years Eve. We arrived at the
destination in Johannesburg called "the most dangerous city
in the world" after a long 22-hourflight. A short course about
safety given by the tour guide refreshed us from falling asleep
suddenly when we landed. In the following two days, we visited
the Sun City, Pilanesberg National Park and Pretoria that
is the administrative, political, economical and cultural
center. We saw different sceneries there if compared with
Guangzhou: not many skyscrapers and different suburban sights.
We enjoyed the site visit in the tropical grassland and the
close observation of wild animals in a traveling bus. On the
other hand, we could experience the modernization of metropolis,
prosperous city, luxury palaces, exotic atmosphere, advanced
traffic and tourism facilities that constitute a unique picture
of South Africa. It is known that Africa's population is less
than one thirtieth of China while the area is one eighth of
China. It is not difficult to understand why Africa looks
very open in such case. |

In Johannesburg, we took one
day in our schedule to visit our sole agent in South Africa.
We visited their two retail shops in Johannesburg in addition
to headquarter. We understood how our KML products were distributed
to every corner of South Africa via their 51 retails shops.
I would like to express the appreciation to Mr. Tony Paten
and Mr. Alan Ross who organized a grand dinner on Feb 19 (the
second day of Chinese New Year). We spent a wonderful night
with excellent wine, delicious dishes and hospitality aboard.
We spent the last day in Cape Town. It is located at the southern
tip of South Africa, and is considered as an African pearl
on the sea. The scenery in there is charming: fishing villages,
vineyards, beautiful sideways and the beautiful beaches. The
name 'Cape of Good Hope' was frequently appeared in our geography
books in middle school. It was the end of the rainbow for
me. There was a desert with rocks, bushes and thorns instead
of trees, houses and residents. The only 'residents' there are
ostriches, beavers, baboons and etc, waiting on the road for
tourists' food. The only artificial scenewas that there was
a directory marked with 'Cape of Good Hope' in both English
and South Africa language. We took a picture together and
cried out ' We are here!' facing to the sea. We walked towards
the lighthouse of Cape Town under scorching sunshine. We saw
a directory showing the straight-line distance to Beijing
was 12933km. We saw underfoot roaring waves of the endless
sea. At that moment, I admired the Portuguese Marines very
much for their brave exploration of South Africa continent.
What amazing me a lot in this trip was the Chinese language
skill of local residents. When we were buying some small gifts
in shops, we asked 'how much?' in English. They could answer
the prices in Chinese. They are friendly and had smiling faces.
I gained a lot from this short trip. All of us spent a very
meaningful Spring Festival together! |
