KML Took Part in AUTOTEC 2008 in Czech

AUTOTEC 2008 was the greatest motorist fair staged this year in Central Europe. One of the most important fairs of trucks and utility vehicles worldwide included in the calendar of the International Automobile Manufacturers Organization O.I.C.A. occupied ten halls of the Brno Exhibition Centre and most of its open exhibition spaces.

AUTOTEC in Brno, Czech has been held every two years since 1928. This exhibition is the fortieth session, not only novelties of the production of final suppliers, but also producers of parts and service equipment.

KML, as the expert of truck and trailer parts also took part in this fair, and showed Truck and Trailer Bearings, Drive Shaft Center Support Units, Brake Chambers, Slack Adjusters, Camshafts, Universal Joints, Kingpins, etc. Our products on display have attracted many visitors' interests, and also this one-stop service made many other semi-tailor and axle exhibitors show their concerns to cooperate with KML. Hoping the coming business can make this participation more successful.

Visiting Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) 2008

Mr. Dalton Liang and Ms. Daisy Du attended Mid-America Trucking Show 2008, with Mr. Jorge Davila, KML Mexican agent, from March 27 to 29, 2008.

MATS is the biggest heavy truck show all over the world, and it is held at Kentucky Exposition Center in U.S every March. Lots of famous brand name, such as Ford Commercial Truck, Freightliner Truck, HINO Truck, Mack Truck, etc. participated, as well as axle, hub units, chassis fittings, suspension system, engine system, lights, tires, brakes parts, air spring, tie-up cable and so forth.

We further recognize the distribution of truck, axles, semi-trailer manufacturers. While at the same time, we build new ties with potential customers. Thus, it is good for us to further develop U.S truck and trailer market with our KML Bearing USA, Inc.

KML Participated in Exhibition in Dubai with An Ambition

KML, as a well-known brand who has loyal worldwide distributors and customers, are always active to develop our brand by related exhibitions and business activities. From June 1st to 3rd, we participated in the Automechanika Middle East 2008, and successfully showed our competitive auto bearings, such as wheel hub units, C.V. joints, alternator bearings.

Automechanika Middle East was held every year in Dubai, UAE is a strategic location between Europe and the Far East with excellent trade connections. This show is the event for the rapid development of automotive aftermarket in this territory.

It is no doubt that our participation in Automechanika ME is a great success. We met with our clients coming from Africa, Middle East, Europe and South America during the fair. Through this platform, we enhanced a good and long-term relationship with our customers, and also bring out some new program for our future cooperation. What' more, our brilliant band, detailed catalogues and high quality product samples attracted a lot of potential customers. With this great success, we deeply trust that KML brand will have a brilliant perspective in this market.

RMB Appreciation Poses a Challenge to Chinese Exports

The Chinese Year of the Rat is believed to bring luck and fortune, but for many Chinese enterprises, especially manufacturers and exporters in the coastal regions, it has brought along uncertainty.
Many enterprises may be facing predicament as their operational costs rise while competition intensifies. In the Pearl River Delta, tens of thousands of export-oriented manufacturers may have to close their businesses or move them to places with lower operational costs, such as Vietnam.
The woes of these enterprises reflect the general problems in the wider economy, which is facing challenges on several fronts this year: Yuan appreciation, uncertain foreign demand, rising inflation risks and unflagging oil prices. In this year, all eyes are focused on Yuan threat.
The Yuan appreciation may accelerate this year, many economists have warned, forecasting that it will rise to about 6.6 to 6.8 against the dollar. In the one-year non-deliverable forwards market, the exchange rate of Yuan is around 6.47, indicating a much stronger revaluation expectation.
The pace of Yuan appreciation in the first two months of this year has surprised many. If the momentum continues, it will appreciate much faster this year.
"Although the Yuan appreciated by nearly 7 percent against the dollar last year, it has in reality depreciated against the euro, which means the revaluation pace could pick up this year," says Wei Weixian, an economist with the University of International Business and Economics.

Introduction of PoHS in Norway

On June 8, 2007, Norway government announced WTO that it will restrain 18 substances in consumer goods, namely, Prohibition on certain hazardous substances in consumer products (PoHS), which becomes one of the chapters of Norway Product Law.

In recent years, European Union (EU) spared no pains to carry out the Environment protection standard, and successively issued multi-rules of law, like RoHS, WEEE, Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive, to intensify the control and widen the range of forbidden substances. Now, it is possible that European Union will adopt the articles of PoHS in the future, however only Norway is executing the PoHS.

Differences between PoHS and RoHS:

Thereinto, there are only two substances noted both in PoHS and RoHS, Pb and Cd. What's more, the quota of Pb in PoHS is stricter than the quota in RoHS.

Now, many Chinese institutions are able to provide the service of testing forbidden substances, which are useful for manufactures to control the contents of forbidden substances, and to ensure their product quality.

The Impression of Truck World 2008

Truck World 2008 is great success KML Truck Parts. This trade show was held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (from Apr.17 to 19th, 2008) in Toronto, Canada. We have over 30 potential customers that come by our booth and out of the thirty; ten were trailer manufactures from Ontario and Quebec and USA. For the remaining are the fleet managers, service shop owner and private carrier.

I would like to thank Mr. Shum our Engineer from Hong Kong and Rick Cui our Sales Manager from Panyu, Guangzhou.

Mr. Shum had given us many technical sessions on truck and trailer components before the trade show start. Rick is great help in the show talking to some of the potential customers and answering some of the technical questions. Rick managed to get couple of his potential customers outside of Canada to take back.

On the last day of the trade show, we even got the support from the president of KML, Mr. Kevin Chow. He had joint in the trade show despite he just arrived from a trip returning from China. But in the afternoon we had the Chow's family to joint in, just like the trade show goer with their family as well. It was a great afternoon.

Some of the manufactures that stop by our booth, they are great potential customers range from manufacture to fleet servicing company and trailer component distributor. Overall, Truck World 2008 is a great exposure for KML in bearings and as trailer components supplier for the truck and trailer industries.
